Turn distributed expertise into coordinated innovation.
Our vision is a Europe where complex problems such as energy transition, industrial circularity, and responsible digitalization are addressed by the right minds regardless of which organization signs their paycheck.
Our mission is to make that coordination practical: a repeatable process, a curated network, and outputs that organizations can actually pilot.
What we believe
Human-first, AI supports.
AI accelerates synthesis and matching, but the contributors and facilitators are people. Responsibility does not get outsourced to a model.
Beyond belief: passion for science and innovation.
We treat scientific rigor as a baseline. Methods are auditable, contributors are credited, and conclusions are defended on evidence, not authority.
Problem-driven innovation.
Our framework adapts to the challenge. We need a collective of catalysts to bring the innovation.
European by design.
Built around the distributed expertise of European research and industry, with respect for the regulatory and ethical frame this implies.
The team

Cristina Nenu
Founder
As the founder of Nexus Europe, Cristina is pioneering a hybrid intelligence system that combines responsible AI with structured human expertise to enable curated innovation for high-complexity challenges. Her leadership blends scientific depth, industrial execution, and system-level thinking, positioning her uniquely to build a deep-tech company at the intersection of computational social science, behavioural modelling, and innovation governance.
Cristina’s technical foundation is rooted in decades of work in industry, including nearly 20 years at Shell, where she led transformative initiatives and shaped global carbon strategies. Her expertise includes advanced CO₂ capture technologies, catalyst development and manufacturing, large-scale industrial project delivery and cross-regional CCUS strategy development. This background gives her a rare combination of scientific literacy, systems engineering, and governance-grade decision-making, the exact competencies required to build the Nexus curated innovation engine.
While working in industry, Cristina built a reputation for solving complex challenges through structured innovation and multi-stakeholder engagement. Her work demonstrated that traditional innovation methods are insufficient in high-complexity environments, a realisation that led her to found Nexus Europe where she is transforming this insight into a deep-tech system. This positions her as a deep-tech inventor building a new socio-technical discipline.

Board & governance
Nexus launched its first advisory board in collaboration with the Veblen Directors School, bringing together five distinguished experts whose perspectives helped shape our early direction. Their contribution is reflected in our foundational work. Read the announcement on LinkedIn.
As Nexus has evolved, so has our governance model. We now work with a small advisory group composed of senior leaders from industry and academia. This flexible structure allows us to bring in targeted expertise aligned with our current development phase, while keeping the organisation agile as our innovation programmes expand. Formal announcements on the board composition are published on our LinkedIn page.
